Telangana Govt Gives Age Relaxation for Police Recruitment

The Telangana government’s decision to increase the upper age limit for applicants to state government jobs by two years will also benefit candidates applying for police and allied department vacancies. Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TGPRB) Chairman V.V. Srinivasa Rao said the relaxation would apply to the four recruitment notifications issued on July 29 for 7,437 posts across the Police, Special Protection Force, Fire Services and Prisons departments. The relaxation covers Civil Constables, Civil Sub-Inspectors, Mechanics, Driver Constables and Fingerprint Bureau posts as well.

Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the TGPRB website from 8 a.m. on August 19 to 5 p.m. on September 9, 2026. Candidates have been advised to check the detailed notification and eligibility conditions before applying. The recruitment drive is expected to provide an additional opportunity to unemployed aspirants who may have crossed the earlier upper-age limit.
