A fishing boat carrying seven fishermen went missing off the Visakhapatnam coast, triggering a large-scale search operation. One fisherman, identified as the boat owner Chinnayya, was rescued safely by the crew of a passing ship. The remaining six fishermen are still missing, and efforts are underway to trace them.
The fishermen had set out for fishing from the Visakhapatnam Fishing Harbour on July 1 and were returning on Saturday after completing their trip. Concern grew after their mobile phones were found switched off. The Indian Coast Guard, mechanised boats' union members, and expert swimmers are conducting an intensive rescue operation in the area where the fishermen were last reported.
