Sajjanar Warns: Strict Action Against Those Disturbing Peace During Ganesh Immersion

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Sajjanar has issued a warning ahead of the Ganesh immersion and procession, stating that any attempt to disturb peace and public order will not be tolerated. He said police will closely monitor social media platforms for the circulation of old videos, rumours and misleading information intended to create tension in society. Such claims will be verified through fact-checking, and legal action will be taken against individuals who deliberately spread misinformation or incite hatred.

The Commissioner also warned against activities that could undermine the sanctity of the festival. If obscene songs, vulgar performances or inappropriate dances are staged in the name of celebrations, police will take strict action based on recorded footage, even after the events are over. Sajjanar appealed to citizens to celebrate the sacred occasion with devotion and maintain a peaceful atmosphere. He also urged people not to believe unverified rumours and to cooperate with the police in maintaining public safety and communal harmony.
