Remain Vigilant Over Elephant Movement: Pawan Kalyan

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Forest and Environment Minister Pawan Kalyan reviewed the movement of elephants near Padiputlabailu in Chittoor district with forest officials. He directed authorities to take all necessary measures to safely drive the elephant herd back into the forest. He suggested bringing kumki elephants from the Musalamadugu camp to carry out the operation. He also instructed officials to maintain continuous surveillance in coordination with Hanuman teams, police, revenue and electricity departments.

For the past 15 days, a herd of 11 elephants and two elephants that had separated from the group have been moving around the Padiputlabailu panchayat area. Farmers have reported crop damage in Pundlavallapalli, Nadimpalli and Kondakindapalli villages. Officials said one group had crossed the road and entered the Mangalamapeta beat, while the other two elephants were moving towards Chittoor. Pawan Kalyan directed field teams to alert residents in vulnerable villages based on the elephants’ movements and take preventive measures to avoid human-elephant conflicts. He also called for immediate compensation arrangements for farmers who suffered crop losses.
