Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has formally handed over the advanced F-INSAS system to the Indian Army during an event in Delhi showcasing various defence and strategic systems. F-INSAS stands for Future Infantry Soldier as a System and is aimed at equipping Indian soldiers with modern technology and advanced combat capabilities.
As part of the F-INSAS gear, the Army has also received the AK-203 assault rifle. The rifle is a gas-operated, magazine-fed, select-fire weapon developed using Russian technology. It is designed to accurately engage targets at distances of up to 300 metres. The AK-203 rifles are set to be manufactured under an India-Russia joint venture, strengthening indigenous defence manufacturing and bilateral defence cooperation.
