President Droupadi Murmu to Confer Padma Awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan Today

The Padma Awards ceremony is being held today at Rashtrapati Bhavan in a two-phase schedule. In the first phase, President Droupadi Murmu will confer 66 Padma awards. The honours include 2 Padma Vibhushan, 6 Padma Bhushan, and 58 Padma Shri awards, recognizing distinguished contributions across various fields of excellence.

For the year 2026, the Government of India has announced a total of 131 Padma awards, which include 5 Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan, and 113 Padma Shri awards. The Padma Awards remain one of the country’s highest civilian honours, celebrating achievements in arts, literature, education, sports, medicine, social work, and public affairs.
