NTR Baby Kits to Be Distributed to Babies Born in AP Government Hospitals

The Andhra Pradesh government is providing ‘NTR Baby Kits’ to newborns delivered at government hospitals across the state. The kits contain essential items for newborn care and are intended to support families immediately after childbirth. Each NTR Baby Kit costs around Rs.1,400, while the initiative is expected to benefit approximately 2.45 lakh babies every year.

The state government has earmarked an annual budget of Rs.51.15 crore for the NTR Baby Kits programme. The initiative is aimed at supporting institutional deliveries in government hospitals and ensuring that essential newborn-care items are available to families after childbirth. Andhra Pradesh’s Health Department also operates dedicated newborn-care facilities across delivery points, from primary health centres to medical colleges.
