KTR’s Passport Seizure Sought in Formula E Case

BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao’s foreign travel has come under scrutiny in connection with the Formula E case. The Nampally ACB Special Court is hearing the case, in which the Anti-Corruption Bureau has alleged irregularities in the payment of government funds for the Formula E race held in Hyderabad. KTR, who is Accused No. 1, has denied wrongdoing and said he would cooperate with the judicial process. The latest hearing was adjourned to October 30.

Reports indicate that restrictions have been sought on KTR’s passport and overseas travel in connection with the proceedings. Any restriction on international travel would mean that he would need to comply with the court’s conditions and obtain permission where required. The case concerns alleged financial and procedural irregularities in payments related to the Formula E event; the allegations remain subject to judicial proceedings.
