Khairatabad Ganesh Immersion: 69-Ft Panchamukha Ganapathi Reaches Hussain Sagar

The grand immersion of the iconic Khairatabad Ganesh idol was completed peacefully at NTR Marg in Hyderabad. This year, the deity was presented as the 69-foot ‘Panchamukha Sankatahara Maha Ganapathi’. The procession began from Khairatabad at around 9:30 AM on Friday and passed through Sensation Theatre, Rajdoot Junction, Telephone Bhavan, Iqbal Minar and Telangana Thalli Junction before reaching NTR Marg. After special prayers by the festival committee, the idol was immersed in Hussain Sagar at around 2:15 PM with the help of heavy cranes.

Thousands of devotees gathered along the procession route and at Tank Bund to witness the grand farewell. The atmosphere reverberated with chants of “Ganapati Bappa Morya” as devotees bid an emotional farewell to the massive idol. Police made elaborate security arrangements to prevent any untoward incidents during the immersion. During the procession, Danam Nagender was also seen dancing in front of the Maha Ganapathi.
