Indian Railways Issues Fresh Advisory on Ticket Verification

Indian Railways has issued a fresh advisory regarding ticket verification, asking passengers to keep a valid original e-ticket through the IRCTC app, the official booking confirmation or a printed ticket while travelling. The advisory also recommends carrying a government-issued photo identity card to facilitate smooth ticket verification during the journey.

According to the advisory, the objective is to prevent ticket tampering, misuse and fraudulent travel. Railway authorities have cautioned passengers against relying on altered or unverifiable copies of tickets during inspection and advised them to ensure they can produce valid travel documents whenever requested by ticket-checking officials.
