Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed that the India–Europe partnership should become a strong pillar for global stability, sustainable development, and shared prosperity. Addressing a European CEOs roundtable meeting hosted by Volvo in Gothenburg, Sweden, he highlighted the need for closer cooperation between India and Europe amid global uncertainties, supply chain pressures, energy security challenges, and climate change concerns.
He noted that India–Europe relations are at a crucial turning point and welcomed the consensus reached on the Free Trade Agreement (FTA), urging both sides to work towards its swift implementation. The Prime Minister emphasized India’s young population, expanding middle class, and rapid infrastructure growth as key drivers of economic progress. He said India is emerging as one of the fastest-growing major economies and called on European companies to jointly build the next technological revolution in India.
