The Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched an advanced surveillance initiative named 'Project Hawk Eye' to strengthen security for the annual Amarnath Yatra, which is scheduled to begin on July 3. The project is designed to ensure continuous monitoring of the pilgrimage route and provide enhanced protection for thousands of devotees expected to participate in the annual pilgrimage.
As part of the initiative, authorities will deploy artificial intelligence (AI), advanced surveillance cameras, drones, and real-time monitoring systems to keep a close watch on the entire route 24/7. Officials said the primary objective is to enhance pilgrim safety, detect potential threats at an early stage, and prevent any untoward incidents during the yatra.
