Heavy rains have intensified the flood threat across Uttarakhand, with several major rivers and streams witnessing a sharp rise in water levels. In Dehradun, the Tamsa River has crossed the danger mark, flooding areas around the popular Tapkeshwar Temple and nearby ghats. The rising waters have caused concern among residents in vulnerable areas, with several locations reporting waterlogging.
The Ganga has also assumed a dangerous form in Rishikesh, inundating several areas as the river continues to flow at a high level. In Haridwar, the river’s flow has intensified amid persistent rainfall. With the situation worsening in several parts of the state, the Uttarakhand government has issued a high alert and urged people living in low-lying and vulnerable areas to remain cautious and follow official advisories.
