Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials have reportedly arrested YSRCP leader and former Andhra Pradesh minister Karumuri Venkata Nageswara Rao in connection with the alleged AP liquor scam. The former minister was taken into custody in Kondapur, Hyderabad, and was subsequently shifted to the ED office for further questioning.
According to the ED, Karumuri is accused of irregularities in liquor transportation and allegedly receiving ₹28 crore in kickbacks through contracts. The agency has also alleged that tender conditions were changed to favour certain companies. The ED claims that the alleged liquor scam caused a loss of ₹195.33 crore to the state government.
