Farmers’ Lands Must Be Removed from the 22A Prohibited List: Harish Rao

BRS leader and former minister Harish Rao has launched a strong attack on the Telangana government over the inclusion of farmers’ lands in the 22A prohibited list. In a post on X, he alleged that more than 300 acres of patta lands belonging to farmers in Ramdaspally, Ibrahimpatnam, had been included in the 22A list, preventing registrations. He claimed that the move had affected farmers’ access to Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, bank loans and even urea. Harish Rao said farmers had approached Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy as well as the Collector, MRO and other officials, but their grievances had not been resolved. He also claimed that an RDO report had clearly stated that the lands belonged to the farmers.

Harish Rao questioned why the government had not removed the lands from the 22A list despite reportedly having supporting records. He demanded that the government explain the reasons behind the action and respond to allegations of commissions linked to the land issue. He also questioned how the Ramdaspally lands entered the prohibited list when the Ranga Reddy district Collector had reportedly stated that no new land had been added to the 22A list. Harish Rao warned that if the issue was not resolved immediately, a BRS delegation would visit Ramdaspally within two days and stage a protest until justice was delivered to the farmers.
