Election Officials Give Clarity on Prakash Raj’s Voter List Controversy

The Election Commission has responded to actor Prakash Raj’s claim that his name was removed from the electoral roll in Bengaluru. According to the clarification, his name was not deleted permanently but was marked under the “permanently shifted” category after verification of the address mentioned in his voter record. The Bengaluru Central City Corporation also stated that Raj was not residing at the address registered on his voter ID. Officials said local verification found that he had not been living at the apartment in the Shantinagar constituency for the past four years.

Additional District Election Officer Jagadish said officials spoke to Prakash Raj over the phone, during which the actor reportedly confirmed that he was no longer living at the registered address and was residing elsewhere within the Shantinagar constituency. Officials said he can restore his name to the electoral roll by submitting Form 6 with his current residential address. The officer also rejected Raj’s allegations regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), saying they were not supported by the verification conducted.
