The Telangana government has announced gratuity benefits for FTE employees working under the Employment Guarantee Scheme as a Dasara gift. The government has issued an order approving the benefit, which is expected to provide financial security to around 3,800 employees. The employees’ association said the decision marks a significant step towards addressing a demand that had been pending for nearly two decades, with Minister Seethakka playing a key role. According to the announcement, employees will receive a minimum gratuity of ₹4 lakh at retirement, while those completing ten years of service may be eligible for benefits of at least ₹10 lakh.
Minister Seethakka said employee welfare remains a key objective of the people’s government. She emphasised that the government is committed to protecting employees’ rights and dignity and resolving long-pending issues. She added that the government aims to ensure employees do not face financial hardship after retirement and that providing financial security to those who have worked diligently is its responsibility. The employees’ association expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Seethakka for approving the gratuity benefits.
