Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to ensure the successful conduct of the ongoing Sharannavaratri celebrations at the Kanaka Durga Temple on Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada. He called for coordinated efforts by the Endowments Department, Tourism Department and district administration to manage the large influx of devotees, dignitaries and visitors. The Chief Minister stressed that VIP visits should not inconvenience ordinary devotees and asked officials to keep the public informed about darshan arrangements, facilities and traffic restrictions.
The Chief Minister also directed officials to organise Vijayawada Utsav 2.0 successfully with active public participation. The National Saras Mela 2026 will be held at Punnami Ghat in Vijayawada from October 13 to 31, showcasing products made by women’s self-help groups and rural entrepreneurs from across India. Officials said 576 stalls would be set up, including 208 for participants from Andhra Pradesh. Naidu said the event should provide a national platform for products marketed under the ‘Swayam AP’ brand. Arrangements for President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to the Durga Temple and the mela were also reviewed.
