Surendra Singh Choudhary, a 21-year-old student from Madhya Pradesh popularly known as “Bittu Tabahi”, has attracted national and international attention for his efforts to clean the polluted Ajnar River. He reportedly spent around ₹30,000 of his own money on the initiative and documented the work on Instagram. His efforts gained widespread attention on social media, eventually prompting the local municipal corporation to provide heavy machinery to support the cleanup drive.
Choudhary’s initiative also reportedly brought him an employment offer from an organisation based in the Netherlands, while his social media following has grown to nearly two million. However, there are no verified news reports confirming the social media claim that he currently owns or uses two iPhone 17 Pro Max devices. Recalling the difficulties he faced during the campaign, Choudhary said, “I worked alone when no one was paying attention.”
