Best Teachers to Receive Special Training in Finland - Lokesh

Andhra Pradesh is set to send 29 of its best teachers to Finland for an international professional development programme aimed at strengthening the state’s education system. The eight-day programme will be held from August 17 to 26 at the University of Turku in Finland. The initiative is being undertaken as part of the state government’s efforts to develop the AP Model of Education into a benchmark for the country.

The programme, planned under the International Professional Development Programme, will provide selected teachers with an opportunity to gain international exposure and study Finland’s teaching and learning practices. The government intends to enable these teachers to bring the knowledge gained during the programme back to Andhra Pradesh and share it with fellow teachers.

The initiative focuses on innovative approaches such as child-centred learning, joyful pedagogy and play-based education. The training has been designed in collaboration with the University of Turku, with particular attention to Early Childhood Education and Basic Education. The programme is expected to help teachers understand global education practices and explore ways to apply suitable methods in classrooms across the state.
