Telangana Rakshana Sena president Kalvakuntla Kavitha announced that a massive public meeting will be held in Hyderabad on August 6 to demand 50% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs). Addressing a meeting of BC leaders at the TRS office in Banjara Hills, she said the event, titled "Social Justice Telangana Public Meeting", will coincide with the birth anniversary of Professor Jayashankar.
Kavitha said the meeting aims to unite BCs and people from all sections of society to pressurise both the Central and State governments to implement 50% BC reservations. She stated that Telangana Jagruthi and TRS have been working towards this demand for the past two years and expressed confidence that the Hyderabad meeting would become a guiding force for similar movements across the country.
