

Yamaha Motor India has launched the new YZF-R2 in the Indian market as part of its R-series. The motorcycle is priced from Rs.2,30,500 ex-showroom, while the range-topping YZF-R2M costs Rs.2,53,000. Deliveries are scheduled to begin from mid-September. India is the first market globally to receive the new R2.
The YZF-R2 gets a newly developed 204cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 26.5bhp and 19.1Nm of torque. With a kerb weight of 149kg, it is positioned as a lightweight supersport motorcycle. It features 17-inch wheels, dual-channel ABS, traction control, an assist and slipper clutch and three riding modes. The second variant adds a bi-directional quick shifter, while the top-spec R2M gets adjustable suspension and a Smart Key system among other premium features.
