Several bank branches across different states will remain closed for four days between August 25 and 30 due to festivals and the weekly holiday. According to the Reserve Bank of India’s holiday calendar, banks in Andhra Pradesh and Kerala will remain closed on August 25 on account of Milad-un-Nabi and the first Onam. On August 26, banks in Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi and several other states will observe a holiday for Eid-e-Milad. On August 28, branches in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and other regions will remain closed for Raksha Bandhan. August 30 is a Sunday, when banks across the country will remain closed. Since holidays vary by state, customers should check the schedule of their respective bank branch in advance.
Even when physical branches are closed, digital banking services will continue to remain available. Customers can use internet banking, mobile banking, UPI, RTGS, NEFT and ATM services as usual. However, services such as cash deposits at branches, cheque processing, loan documentation and other branch-based activities may not be available during the holidays. Customers with urgent banking requirements are therefore advised to complete their physical banking work before the holidays to avoid inconvenience.
