The Central Government has taken a significant decision to increase the export duty on diesel. The export duty on diesel has been raised from ₹21.5 per litre to ₹55.5 per litre, as per the latest orders. At the same time, the government has also increased the export duty on aviation fuel (ATF), revising it from ₹29.5 to ₹42. Experts believe that these decisions could have an impact on fuel exports.
However, the government has clarified that there is no change in the export duty on petrol. The existing duty on petrol will continue as it is. These recent measures in the fuel sector are said to be influenced by prevailing market conditions and further changes may be expected in the future.
