Apple has accused the Competition Commission of India (CCI) of failing to independently investigate allegations of anti-competitive practices. The tech giant claimed that the regulator is merely “copy-pasting” complaints filed by its rivals. Apple also highlighted that it holds less than 6% share in the Indian smartphone market, dismissing the allegations made against it.
The company argued that CCI should conduct an independent assessment instead of relying on competitor complaints. It warned that forced changes to App Store policies could harm its business model and create regulatory uncertainty, potentially impacting investments in India’s digital economy. A closed-door hearing in the case is scheduled for July 21.
