Bharti Airtel’s fintech arm, Airtel Money, is preparing to enter the international capital market with a proposed listing on the London Stock Exchange. The company said in a filing that details such as the share price band, issue size and other information related to the public offering will be disclosed in draft documents to be submitted in October. The final IPO price is expected to be fixed in the third week of October. The offering will involve existing shareholders selling part of their holdings.
As part of the IPO process, the International Finance Corporation has entered into a pre-investment agreement with Airtel Money. Under the agreement, IFC has committed to purchasing shares worth about $90 million, or around ₹750 crore, from existing shareholders at the final offer price. Airtel Money CEO Ian Ferrao said the platform has become one of Africa’s leading fintech platforms, with around 53 million people conducting digital transactions every month. Airtel Africa currently holds a 77.85% stake in Airtel Money and is expected to remain its key strategic shareholder after the listing.
