WhatsApp Gets a New Look.. Here’s What’s Coming!

WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new visual design for its Android application as part of its ongoing interface updates. According to feature tracker WABetaInfo, the company is testing a redesigned bottom navigation bar that would appear as a separate floating element rather than blending into the bottom edge of the screen. The new bar is expected to feature rounded corners, which could give the Android app a cleaner and more modern appearance.

The redesigned navigation bar is reportedly being tested for both light and dark themes, although the floating effect may be more noticeable in the light theme. The change appears to follow some of the design direction recently introduced on WhatsApp for iOS, while the Android version may use a different visual treatment because of platform-specific design guidelines. The feature is reportedly being tested in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.26.38.10, but it has not yet been widely rolled out even to beta testers. WhatsApp may expand access gradually after collecting user feedback, while an official release date has not been announced.
