Cybersecurity company Sophos has unveiled Sophos Fusion, an AI-native cybersecurity defense platform built to tackle increasingly sophisticated cyber threats in the age of artificial intelligence. Developed on the foundation of Sophos Central, which is used by more than 625,000 organizations globally, the new platform features an open architecture that enables AI agents to coordinate security across endpoints, cloud services, networks and identity systems. The launch marks the first major product following Sophos' $859 million acquisition of Secureworks.
Sophos Fusion introduces advanced capabilities including Next-Gen SIEM, AI Defense, XDR, Managed Detection and Response (MDR) and CISO Advantage. According to the company, the platform uses synchronized security, AI-assisted threat hunting and automated response mechanisms to identify and mitigate attacks within seconds. Sophos stated that more than 52% of security cases in its own Security Operations Center are resolved entirely by AI, with an average automated response time of 89 seconds. The company also noted that while ransomware attacks remain a major threat, phishing emails have now become the leading attack vector, replacing exploited software vulnerabilities.
