Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon X2 Plus chipset for Copilot+ PCs ahead of CES 2026. The new addition to the Snapdragon X series for AI-powered PCs brings improved performance and power efficiency and complements the X2 Elite SoC launched in September 2025. It is designed for Windows laptops and 2-in-1 PCs that meet Microsoft’s Copilot+ NPU performance requirements for local AI inference.
The Snapdragon X2 Plus features Qualcomm’s third-generation Oryon CPU and a dedicated NPU delivering up to 80 TOPS, compared to 45 TOPS in the previous X Plus chipset. Qualcomm claims the 10-core variant offers 35% higher single-core CPU, 17% higher multi-core CPU, 29% better GPU and 78% higher NPU performance than the 2024 X Plus platform. The chip is tuned for low-power, sustained performance, promising multi-day battery life and enhanced security. Consumer devices using X2 Plus are expected in early 2026.
