Google Labs has introduced a new experimental AI agent called CC, which works directly inside Gmail and connects with other Google platforms like Calendar, Drive, Photos, and even the Internet. By analysing user data, CC provides daily summaries of important tasks, updates, meetings, and ongoing projects. Users can also modify the agent’s behaviour by sending instructions via email.
According to Google Labs, CC is a productivity-focused AI built on Gemini and is currently available in early access for users aged 18 and above in the US and Canada who subscribe to Google AI Pro or AI Ultra plans. The rollout includes a waitlist, with plans to expand availability to more regions and users in the future.
Each morning, CC delivers a brief, list-style summary highlighting key tasks for the day. It can also access the Internet to provide more personalised insights. However, the AI agent has limitations it can analyse and summarise information but cannot take actions such as replying to emails, attending meetings, or completing tasks on behalf of the user.
