In a major move in the world of social media and artificial intelligence, Perplexity AI has announced a new partnership with Snap Inc., the parent company of Snapchat. As part of this deal, Perplexity’s advanced AI search assistant will soon be integrated directly into Snapchat, allowing users to ask questions, explore topics, and learn new things right within the app.
Snap, which currently has over 943 million monthly active users, said this collaboration aims to make AI more “personal, social, and fun.” CEO Evan Spiegel stated that the company wants AI to become a natural part of daily conversations and connections among users. The partnership also benefits Snap financially — Perplexity will reportedly pay around $400 million (approx. ₹3,547 crore) in cash and equity over one year once the integration begins. The AI rollout is expected to go live by early 2026, with Snap recording its share of the revenue from that year onward.
Perplexity’s CEO Aravind Srinivas said the company’s goal is to support people’s curiosity and make information easily accessible. “Millions of users already explore and discover the world through Snapchat. With this partnership, we’re bringing our AI directly to where curiosity happens,” he said.
With over 75% of Snapchat’s audience between 13 and 34 years of age across 25 countries, the collaboration is expected to make AI-driven discovery more engaging and youth-friendly than ever before.
