India’s artificial intelligence revolution is reaching new heights as OpenAI’s OpenAI “ChatGPT Images 2.0” has achieved a remarkable milestone. Within just one month of its launch in India, users have generated over 1 billion images, setting a new global record in AI-driven creativity.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman expressed excitement on social media platform X, calling the achievement “incredible.” The feature, launched in India on April 21, reached this milestone by May 18, showcasing the rapid adoption of AI tools in the country.
According to OpenAI, Indian users are widely using creative prompts such as cinematic portrait collages, mini-me worlds, underwater portraits, anime styles, chibi sticker packs, manga comic strips, and fashion studio portraits. The company noted that AI image generation in India is evolving beyond productivity into a strong creative culture, deeply connected with fandoms, digital identity, and fashion trends.
