OpenAI has officially launched its new AI-powered cybersecurity tool ‘Daybreak’, stepping into direct competition with Anthropic’s recently announced ‘Claude Mythos’. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman shared the update on X, stating that AI is already proving highly effective in cybersecurity and is expected to become even more advanced in the future. He added that OpenAI is prepared to work alongside companies to help them continuously strengthen their digital security systems.
Meanwhile, Anthropic’s ‘Claude Mythos’ has already created a major buzz in the tech world due to its advanced hacking and vulnerability detection capabilities. The AI tool is reportedly capable of identifying cybersecurity flaws even in decades-old operating systems and web browsers that experts previously failed to detect. With its high-level coding intelligence, the system can not only uncover security loopholes but also independently develop new methods of exploiting them. Due to fears that such technology could become a dangerous weapon if misused, Anthropic has not made the tool publicly available.
