NotebookLM, one of the most frequently updated artificial intelligence tools from Google, has received a major upgrade with the introduction of Cinematic Video Overviews. The new feature allows users to generate fully animated and immersive videos from their source materials. Earlier, the platform’s Video Overviews could only create narrated presentations with static slides, but the new update transforms them into dynamic visual experiences.
According to Pete Aykroyd from the NotebookLM team, the feature uses multiple advanced AI models including Gemini, Nano Banana Pro, and Veo 3. These models work together to generate scripts, determine the visual style, and structure the narrative for the videos. Gemini acts as the creative director, ensuring the content remains consistent and visually engaging.
Currently, Cinematic Video Overviews are available only to subscribers of Google AI Ultra and support English-language sources. The feature is accessible to users aged 18 and above on both the website and mobile apps. Recently, NotebookLM also introduced new tools such as custom infographic styles and slide revisions on mobile, aimed at improving visual learning and content presentation.
