Agentic AI has moved beyond simply answering queries to actively completing tasks on behalf of users. At a major AI forum in New Delhi, a global payments company unveiled an agentic commerce framework designed to understand user intent, search for products, compare prices, analyze reviews, and finalize purchases securely with user approval. The goal is to make advanced AI-driven commerce accessible not only in metropolitan areas but also to consumers in smaller towns and rural regions through voice-enabled interactions in multiple Indian languages.
The framework has been built to align with India’s regulatory environment, emphasizing data localization, privacy protection, and compliance with financial laws. To prevent fraud, it uses advanced authentication, transaction monitoring, and behavioral analysis to detect unusual activity. Industry leaders say such technologies will not eliminate jobs but will reshape them, shifting human roles away from repetitive tasks toward more creative and strategic functions.
