When watching videos on platforms like YouTube or other video services, users typically pause a video with a single tap and resume it with another. However, Instagram Reels has so far lacked this functionality, requiring users to press and hold the screen to pause a video. This difference has often caused inconvenience for users accustomed to other platforms. Recognizing this, Meta has introduced a “Tap-to-Pause” feature to enhance user convenience.
With this new update, users no longer need to hold the screen to pause a Reel on Instagram. Similar to other video platforms, a single tap now allows users to easily pause the video. When the video is paused, a mute option also appears on the screen, enabling users to control the audio as needed.
This feature makes it easier for users to read captions or closely դիտ specific scenes within a video. The update is currently being rolled out in phases to both Android and iOS users.
