Netflix is reportedly testing a new artificial intelligence powered voice search feature. The system uses semantic search to understand user intent and suggest content based on mood and context. The feature is currently in beta and available only to a limited number of users.
According to reports, users can search for content based on emotions or situations, such as “movies after a long tiring day”. The feature is currently available only on select devices and platforms, including specific Google TV setups, but not on Roku or Fire TV.
The AI system does not yet use personal watch history for recommendations and does not interact verbally with users. It responds only through text based suggestions. While it may occasionally produce minor errors, it is generally considered effective in understanding user intent.
