Meta has reportedly paused all its work with AI recruitment firm Mercor following a recent cyberattack that allegedly led to a massive data breach. The Menlo Park-based company, which was one of Mercor’s major clients, took this step after reports claimed that hackers stole large volumes of sensitive data. The attack is currently under investigation, with cybersecurity experts assessing the scale and impact of the breach.
Mercor, known for hiring domain experts to evaluate and improve large language model outputs, has worked with major AI firms in the industry. Following the incident, other companies are also said to be reassessing their association with the startup. While the firm has assured a thorough investigation with external experts, concerns remain over data security and the broader implications for AI development partnerships.
