Google Translate, one of the world’s most popular translation services, has introduced a new feature. To mark its 20th anniversary, Google has added a tool that many users had been requesting.
Google had already introduced practice tools for language learning, and now it has expanded them with a Pronunciation feature. This allows users to improve how they speak foreign language phrases.
After translating a phrase, users can tap the Practice option and select the new Pronounce button. The app then shows the phonetic spelling, activates the microphone, and asks users to read the phrase aloud.
Google Translate will rate the attempt and provide feedback on unclear sounds or mistakes. For now, the feature is available only on Android devices in the US and India, supporting English, Spanish, and Hindi.
