Infosys has announced one of the highest starting salaries in the Indian IT sector, offering up to ₹21 lakh per annum for select specialized technology roles. This strategic move is aimed at strengthening the company’s artificial intelligence capabilities and attracting candidates with advanced digital and technical skills. Compared to similar specialized roles across other IT firms, Infosys’ offer stands out as significantly higher.
According to reports, Infosys is planning to launch off-campus recruitment drives soon to hire engineering and computer science graduates for these niche positions. The annual compensation for these roles is expected to range between ₹7 lakh and ₹21 lakh. The positions include Specialist Programmer (Levels 1 to 3) and Digital Specialist Engineer (Trainee). Eligible candidates include graduates from BE, BTech, ME, MTech, MCA, and Integrated MSc (Computer Science) programs.
Under the new structure, Specialist Programmer L3 trainees will receive ₹21 lakh per annum, L2 trainees ₹16 lakh, and L1 trainees ₹11 lakh. Digital Specialist Engineer trainees will be offered ₹7 lakh annually. This marks a notable shift, especially when compared to the relatively stagnant fresher salaries in the IT industry over the past decade, while executive-level compensation has risen sharply.
