India’s Icons Could Soon Get Their Own Emojis

India’s iconic landmarks, achievements and innovations could soon receive dedicated emojis, giving them a distinct presence on digital platforms. The proposed emoji set is expected to highlight symbols associated with India’s infrastructure, technology, culture and national achievements.

Possible icons include the Vande Bharat train, UPI, Chenab Bridge, Atal Tunnel, BrahMos, Ram Mandir and Bharat Mandapam, among others. The initiative aims to showcase Indian achievements and cultural symbols to a global digital audience. The concept is also gaining attention on social media with hashtags such as #IndianIcons, #MakeInIndia, #DigitalIndia and #EmojiKeyboard.
