A new iOS application, HyperTexting, is aiming to redefine how people browse the internet by transforming the open web into a familiar social media-style feed. Developed by tech entrepreneur Caleb Hailey, the app enables users to follow websites, blogs, newsletters and podcasts with a single tap, displaying updates in a continuously scrolling timeline without relying on recommendation algorithms. Built on RSS technology, HyperTexting simplifies the traditional RSS experience with a user-friendly interface designed for mainstream audiences.
The platform also encourages content creators to publish on their own websites through services such as WordPress and Ghost while maintaining complete ownership of their content. An Explore section helps users discover trending topics across the web, and an optional Safari extension makes it easier to add websites while browsing. By combining the openness of the internet with the convenience of social media feeds, HyperTexting aims to offer a more transparent, personalised and algorithm-free browsing experience.
