Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has announced a major expansion strategy to strengthen its manufacturing footprint in the country. The company plans to increase production capacity at its Rajasthan and Gujarat manufacturing facilities, with the goal of achieving an annual production capacity of 8 million units from 2028. The move reflects Honda's confidence in the continued growth of the Indian two-wheeler market.
HMSI President and CEO Tsutsumu Otani stated that the expansion project will also create around 3,800 new jobs, contributing to employment growth alongside industrial development. The company believes the investment will help meet rising domestic demand while further enhancing its manufacturing capabilities in India.
