Google is reportedly working on a new AI powered feature called Avatar that allows users to create a 3D version of themselves for faster content generation. The feature, currently under development, is expected to be integrated into Google Gemini. It uses technology similar to Android XR’s Likeness capability, which was introduced in December 2025.
According to reports, the feature was discovered during an APK teardown of the Google app and is not yet available to users. Avatar is designed to let users add themselves into generated content using simple prompts, eliminating the need to upload images repeatedly. While it may significantly improve content creation speed, it is still unclear whether it will support video generation in the future.
