Google is reportedly working on deeper interoperability between its AI chatbot Gemini and its AI-powered learning platform NotebookLM. According to a report, Google developers are adding a NotebookLM button inside the Gemini app, allowing users to import notebooks as attachments. This integration will help users utilize Gemini’s full range of features to refine and enhance their notebooks.
A report from Testing Catalog reveals that Google is testing a feature that enables seamless transfer of information between Gemini and NotebookLM. Evidence of this feature was found inside the Gemini app’s code, which now includes references to a NotebookLM button. Since the feature is still under development, even beta testers cannot access it yet.
With this update, users may be able to send a chatbot conversation directly to NotebookLM without manually copying and pasting. Another snippet of code suggests the ability to import any NotebookLM notebook into Gemini as an attachment, enabling users to use advanced tools like Canvas, Nano Banana Pro, Veo 3 and various app connectors to refine their notes.
These features are still unannounced and may not be guaranteed for release, as Google often tests features that do not make it to the final product.
Recently, Google has been rapidly expanding NotebookLM’s capabilities, including Nano Banana support, Veo 3 Fast-powered video overviews, multilingual audio overviews, and Deep Research tool integration.
