Eight Sleep, a New York based sleep technology company, is expanding into AI powered predictive sleep health after raising $50 million in a recent funding round. The company is now focusing on developing advanced technologies that can monitor and improve sleep health, including seeking approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for a device designed to detect and reduce sleep apnea.
The funding round was led by Tether Investments, with participation from major investors. With a valuation of $1.5 billion, the company has raised over $310 million so far. This investment marks a strategic shift from basic sleep optimisation to AI driven preventive healthcare, aiming to enhance recovery and minimise sleep disruptions using predictive intelligence.
The company is developing an advanced AI system that can predict sleep patterns and adjust conditions before disruptions occur. Unlike its existing products that react in real time, the new system will analyse user behaviour and simulate various scenarios to optimise sleep in advance. By using data from over one billion hours of sleep the company aims to provide personalised health insights and improve overall well being.
