

Deputy Chief Minister visited QuantumScape’s headquarters in San Jose, where he met President and CEO Dr. Siva Sivaram and members of the senior leadership team. Dr. Sivaram presented the company’s work on next-generation solid-state lithium-metal batteries, including their potential for higher energy density, faster charging and improved safety compared with conventional lithium-ion technology. The discussions also covered the challenges of scaling advanced battery technology from research to commercial manufacturing.
The meeting also focused on the global battery supply chain, including critical minerals, advanced materials, components, cell manufacturing and electric-vehicle integration. The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted India’s growing capabilities in advanced manufacturing, engineering talent and clean technologies and invited QuantumScape to explore deeper engagement with the Indian ecosystem. Potential opportunities in R&D, advanced materials, supply-chain partnerships and future localisation or expansion of next-generation battery technologies in India were discussed.
