Samsung is reportedly upgrading its Bixby Live AI assistant by integrating DeepSeek and Perplexity to compete with Google’s Gemini Live. The new features were spotted in a beta version of the upcoming One UI 8.5 update based on Android 16. With this update, users will be able to export AI-generated results into documents and attach multiple images and videos to their queries for more accurate responses.
According to leaks shared by X user Galaxy Techie, Bixby Live on One UI 8.5 can generate images, videos, music, podcasts, audio files and documents, and also supports Circle to Search. The assistant is said to include eight specialised agents such as Tour Guide, Storyteller, Interview, Dress Matching and more, making it function similarly to Google’s Gemini Live.
Bixby Live will reportedly be able to read the screen, analyse camera input, solve equations, translate text and auto-save captions and annotations. Users may download responses as PDF, Word, or text files and share screens or apps for real-time AI support. While Samsung has not officially confirmed these features, previous reports have also highlighted Perplexity’s growing role within Bixby.
