

Hyderabad, Business Bureau: India has taken a significant leap in semiconductor innovation with the launch of the country’s first intelligent power System-on-Chip (SoC), ‘Arka GKT–1’. Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled the chip on Monday, marking a crucial milestone in India’s ambition to become a global hub for semiconductor design and advanced technologies. Developed jointly by Cyient Semiconductors and Azimuth AI, this next-generation chip integrates multi-core custom computing, advanced analog sensing, memory, and intelligent power management into one highly efficient platform.
Cyient Vice Chairman Krishna Bodanapu stated that the SoC is designed to save power while boosting performance, making it ideal for high-growth sectors like smart utilities, advanced metering, battery management, and industrial automation. Azimuth AI founder Praveen Y added that ‘Arka GKT–1’ symbolizes India’s rising capability to design and build world-class semiconductor technologies, positioning the country strongly on the global tech map.
