

Hyderabad: In a significant move in the global IT services space, Coforge has announced the acquisition of Encora, a US-based artificial intelligence and digital engineering company. The deal involves the purchase of 100 percent stake in Encora for $2.35 billion (approximately ₹21,133 crore) and will be executed entirely through a stock-based transaction.
As part of the agreement, Coforge will issue $1.89 billion worth of preferential shares to Encora’s existing shareholders. Leading private equity firms such as Advent International and Warburg Pincus are among the major stakeholders in Encora.
Coforge CEO Sudhir Singh stated that the acquisition would strengthen the company’s AI-driven engineering capabilities and accelerate its growth in advanced technology services. With the integration of Encora, Coforge expects to emerge as a $2.5 billion global technology services company.
Looking ahead to the 2027 financial year, Coforge projects that revenues from AI-led engineering, data, and cloud services will exceed $2 billion. AI engineering is expected to contribute over $1.25 billion, cloud services around $500 million, and data engineering approximately $250 million, highlighting the company’s strong focus on next-generation digital solutions.
